According to Widodo, the UMKM must be innovative polishing products, because business world competition has been increasingly tough. If they cannot compete, the local product will be retarded. Moreover, import products easily enter into Indonesia.
"KUMKMP Sub-Department will simplify the promotion and licensing, as well as cooperate with Industry and Energy, Agriculture and Livestock Sub-Departments in order to improve the quality of UMKM products," he told.
In West Jakarta, some UMKMs have a superior product. One of them is guided UMKM in Mangga Ubi, Kapuk Cengkareng Barat Urban Village. The UMKM has produced various furniture made from rattan.
While for other superior products, such as accessories, food, garments and household equipment. Yet only some can be exported due to it is still constrained by the ISO certification.
He admitted that all this time, to make the product into finished quality goods is unoptimal yet. This is caused by the limitations of existing raw materials in the capital. Thus the guided UMKM had to buy materials outside Jakarta.
"Our weakness is limited raw materials. Whereas, our human resources are able to process raw materials into semi-finished goods and finished goods," exclaimed Widodo.
